The version of Moneypenny from the continuity of Ian Fleming's original ''James Bond'' novels was instead given the first name of “Jane” in the [[wikipedia:The Moneypenny Diaries|''Moneypenny Diaries'' spin-off novels]]. The cinematic version from the 1960s and 1970s, portrayed by [[wikipedia:Lois Maxwell|Lois Maxwell]], was never properly speaking given a first name, although Bond occasionally referred to her as “Penny” (potentially a nickname based on her last name rather than an indication of her full name as Penelope Moneypenny).
