The garbled prophecy spoken to Jenny Everywhere in the Collapsed Cosmos told her to follow the Red Lion. This was actually a reference to the Red Lion Inn, which later provided Jenny with an escape route out of Faerie when she was being chased by Wild Hunt. The Red Lion is the symbol and name of over 600 British pubs, being the archetypal pub name. The Red Lion imagery to which these pubs owe their name was part of the hearldic emblem of John of Gaunt; in other cases, the Red Lion appears as part of the arms of Scotland.
