Joe Macaré wrote two of the earliest Jenny Everywhere Barbelith comic stories, which were both illustrated by Nelson Evergreen: COMIC: Name's Not Down and COMIC: Damn Fine Hostile Takeover. In the latter, Macaré thus wrote the debut of Jenny Nowhere.
He and Nelson Evergreen discussed their early work in a 2023 interview with Aristide Twain.
