In the Prime Universe, where Victor von Frankenstein was a fictional character, (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker) there existed a popular image of the fictional Frankenstein's Monster as laid down on a slab, chained down at the wrists and ankles. Loki bound to his Rune Stone appeared reminiscent of this image, despite a lack of resemblance between the two men otherwise. (PROSE: The Winter Quests)
