Charles was a self-defeating, bitter personality. He was once told he should try to talk to more people; in an intentionally half-baked effort, he sulkily walked up to a random woman in the street (who happened to be Jenny Everywhere), waited a moment saying nothing, then walked off again when she failed to open a conversation.
