Black mould

From Jenny Everywhere Wiki

In one universe, a mysterious black mould growing out of control in the server room was one of the strange events which occurred at Facebook HQ between June 18th, 2019 and October 4th, 2021, worsening after Mark Zuckerberg announced that his business arrangement with Chuckzikkiushki had fallen through. (PROSE: What Went Down at Facebook)

Behind the scenes

The most famous “black mould” in the real world is notorious for growing in abandoned, water-damaged buildings, and is controversially believed to be toxic to humans. One prosaic interpretation of What Went Down at Facebook is that the mould is hallucinogenic and the only real “unusual” event in the story, with everything from the strange sights reported by the employees to the erratic behaviour of Mark Zuckerberg being caused by exposure to the mould.

Alternatively, the black mould may be connected to some version of the Man in Black: the story's mentions of a prototypal version of the Man in Grey was inspired by the song Man at C&A, which mentions both the Man in Black and the Man in Grey as distinct otherworldly figures, with the Man in Black appearing to be more powerful and influential than the Man in Grey.
