In one universe, Retro was a time-travelling android with a passion for old comic books as well as a friend of Jenny Everywhere.

Profile

Physical appearance

Retro was a life-sized likeness of a human man, at least in silhouette — although he had no hair and his eyes lacked pupils. He appeared to be made of, or at the very least, coated with gold or another golden metal. Two lines ran symmetrically down the length of his face. He wore red-and-gold clothing reminiscent of 19th-century military uniforms and fingerless red-and-black gloves. (COMIC: The Secret Origin of Jenny Everywhere)

Personality

Retro was a mild, excitable fellow. He had a passion for comic books and easily got wrapped up in the fiction he was reading about. Although he broadly understood the nature of the Shifter, she sometimes surprised one. (COMIC: The Secret Origin of Jenny Everywhere)

Biography

Jenny Everywhere and Retro once got together in a large room with two poofy green armchairs and a number of old comic books strewn about. Retro picked up and read through Jenny Everywhwere: Secret Origins, a comic which purported to depict the origin story of the Shifter across the entire Multiverse. Amazed, Retro asked Jenny if the comic was accurate; to his confusion, Jenny neither confirmed nor denied the story outright, saying that its events had only "kinda" happened. Behind the scenes

Retro, the Nostalgic Man was the mascot of Nostalgic Books & Comics, the independent comic publisher which created The Secret Origin of Jenny Everywhere as a Jenny Everywhere Day freebie in 2015.

On his official Facebook page, the character was defined as a "time-traveling super-hero fanboy". Several illustrations by Kat Miller were released between his debut on July the 19th, 2014 and the page's last update on December the 20th, 2015. Although a webcomic starring the character had been announced, it never materialised.
