When Jenny Everywhere tried to describe married life to him, Thuban, a fan of Star Wars, couln't help but think of the platonic relationship between Han Solo and the tall ape-like humanoid Chewbacca, imagining himself as Han. Thuban suggested that at one point in the story, Solo got “frozen in metal”, forcing Chewbacca to “go kill a slug to get [him] out”. (COMIC: Infinity Apartment)
Behind the scenes
Chewbacca is a major character in the Star Wars series, of which Thuban is established earlier in Infinity Apartment to be a great fan, although the link is not explicit in the strip containing the allusions to Solo (who is not named). Notably, Thuban's offhand summary of events is not quite accurate to the plots of the real-life movies: while Solo is indeed frozen in a fictional metal alloy called carbonite on behalf of the slug-like alien crime-boss Jabba the Hutt, it is not Solo's sidekick Chewbacca who kills Jabba in the process of rescuing him, but rather Solo's love interest, Leia Organa.
