The “Barbelith Stories” are the line-up of the thirteen earliest standalone comic adventures of Jenny Everywhere, created between 2002 and 2004 by members of the selfsame Barbelith forum where she was created.
Stories
The canonical list of thirteen titles, as given on the original Jenny Everywhere website, is not a complete list of everything done in that early period. The earliest story begun was Cars, by creator Steven Wintle, a twenty-four hour comic which was never included as part of the line-up. Planet Pedro (sometimes mistakenly called Afrenasia), Borders, and Spores of Doom were early Barbelith stories which were never finished, naturally barring them from inclusion on the list. A complete story, New York Chaos, was originally part of the line-up but was effectively “decanonised” due to sensitivity concerns. Narcissist? was created in 2004 as part of a “wandering notebook” belonging to the members of the Barbelith forums, known as the Blue Book, but had not yet been digitised in the heyday of the Jenny Everywhere website. Stories created during the relevant period but outside of the Barbelith community were also not included.
Jenny Everywhere Vs Hell, By the Book, and Say the Word were also created by Barbelith members relatively early on as part of the original Jenny project, and were all advertised on the forums, but, having been completed in 2005 and 2007 respectively, were too late to have made the original list.
