The “Skirmish at the Cupid Theatre” was the name given by Incident Report C248B to a fistfight which broke out in 2019 between Paintbrush-122 and Sketchbook-430 at the Cupid Theatre in the Cupid Homeworld following the premiere of The Death? Planned It! and The Moonbeams, two episodes of The Rainbow Adventures featuring the SavageMen.
The source of the quarrel was that the two episodes, which had been developed in parallel by teams led by each of the two artistically-minded Cupids, featured almost identical designs for the villainous SavageMen. Thus, each Cupid accused the other of plagiarism. Seeing that the fight was giving no sign of resolving, other Cupids tried to call the Department of Problem-Solving, but could only locate Valerius-1497, whose philosophical pontifications were entirely unhelpful. They then called the Department of Boxing & Fistfighting, who declared that it was out of their hands given that the two were not playing by Oxford rules. Finally, the fight was broken up by Larrikin-1029, who caught both Cupids in a large burlap sack and directly brought them before Judicator-337 of the Department of Discipline.
