The Lurigadawne of Tipperary, “as he existed in Dimension 77”, was known for wielding a magic sword. When she visited his home and found him gone, she was further distressed to see that he had taken his sword from the umbrella stand. (PROSE: The Interlude of Jenny Everywhere)

Behind the scenes

The Lurigadawne as depicted in The Interlude of Jenny Everywhere stems from his brief description in the public-domain 1888 book Irish Wonders, which states that he “wears an antique slashed jacket of red, with peaks all round and a jockey cap, also sporting a sword, which he uses as a magic wand”. As such, the sword is a public domain artefact.
