Behind the scenes
The Doctor, or "Dr. Who", whose unnamed cameo in The Late Shift was an unlicensed easter egg, is the main protagonist of the Doctor Who series, which was debuted in 1963 and spans a variety of media.
The character was cited in 2002 as an inspiration for Jenny in one of the original Barbelith forum-threads where Jenny was created.
