Malthus was the alias used by a mysterious figure who took care of the morgue of the Strange and Wonderful House. He considered himself to not be “a real person” and viewed his caretaking as a “self-inflicted punishment”. He owned multiple rings including a silver one which warned him of impending new arrivals.
