A Sphinx was a supernatural creature, often considered to be a monster, with the body of a lion but a human head.

One Sphinx called Paisi Psusennes was one of the monsters who served the Beastmaster until Jenny Everywhere convinced her to see him as a rival monster rather than a master, leading to her chasing him out of her territory. (COMIC: Jenny Everywhere and the Master of Monsters)
