Munchkin
Munchkins were a species of diminutive humanoids.
Munchkins existed in some versions of the Land of Oz. Professor Wogglebug tested his Information Pills on a Munchkin volunteer whose head “combusted from all the information implanted into their brain”. Thanks to the magic of Oz, however, this did not kill them, and their head was efficiently replaced by a balloon with a smiley face painted on it. (PROSE: A Series of Queer Events)
Jenny Everywhere mistook the diminutive humanoids she met in Hideea for Munchkins until they angrily declared themselves to be Dwarves, taking offence at the comparison to Munchkins. (COMIC: Beauty as a Beast)
Behind the scenes
Munchkins are small humanoids from L. Frank Baum's Oz series, and are in the public domain; they are the inhabitants of the eastern quarter of the Land of Oz, the other countries being the Gillikins, the Winkies, and the Quadlings. It is unclear from COMIC: Beauty as a Beast if Munchkins exist natively to Hideea or if the Dwarves simply know the term as an insult for short people such as themselves.
