In Reality Z-25 31-H, Kelly and Jenkins once got into an argument about Pippi Longstocking: Kelly professed appreciation for the “American movie” starring the character, while Jenkins insisted that that film was “totally Disneyfied” and the Swedish films were superior. (COMIC: Journey Out Of Misery)
Behind the scenes
Pippi Longstocking is the protagonist of a notorious Swedish children's-book series. The character was indeed the subject of several Swedish films, starting in 1949 (though Jenkins is more likely referring to the 1960s-1970s Swedish series of TV episodes later spun off into four feature films, two of them actually reedited versions of the TV episodes) — as well as of an American film adaptation in 1988, disavowed by the character's creator and many other Pippi Longstocking enthusiasts.
