The Statue of Liberty was a statue of an allegory of “Lady Liberty”, which existed in New York City in at least one universe.
The figure was a hodgepodge of symbols, supposedly welding “the tablets of law of Moses, the raised arm of Minerva, the fiery torch of Paollo, the mysterious expression of the Sphinx, and the Aerial crown of Christianity”. However, it was also a symbol of the American state itself. In one universe, a Jenny Everywhere who was an anarchist thus destroyed the Statue as a symbol of rebellion. (COMIC: New York Chaos)
