The Great Wish Escapade was an April Fools' Day short story released as the second instalment in Xavier Llewellyn's Everywhere's Extraordinary Escapades series.[1]

The story was not written by Llewellyn, however, as it was actually a slightly modified version of the 1902 short story The Monkey’s Paw by William Wymark Jacobs. The character Sergeant-Major Morris was renamed to Sergeant-Major Everywhere. The story's misleading nature was aided by the story's blurb actively tricking readers into believing this was an all-new story about Jenny Everywhere gaining the ability to have any wish she wanted granted and angering fate in the process.
