In one universe, Puddle the Troll was a large, simple-minded Troll with whom the Gnomes Gog and Mim were acquainted. He was normally mild-mannered, but sometimes flew into a beastly, destructive rage, at which points his dark eyes would turn bright crimson.

When Erman's showing-off of Sven Allestädes's magical item of clothing unnerved Puddle, he tore it apart into dozens of pieces, unwittingly allowing Erman to discover the item could duplicate itself an infinite amount of times when it was cut apart. Subsequently, after Erman managed to convince the King to make clothing mandatory in Little Noodlington, he flew into one of his rage and rushed out of Gog and Mim's house — breaking down the wall as he went — fully intent on stomping Erman into a paste. Abúi followed after him and managed to calm him down using Waylay Dust while Tash Spicer, Sven Allestädes and Sprite worked on a non-violent way of resolving the situation. After they made all the duplicates of Sven's magical cloth disappear, and an angry crowd chased Erman out of town demanding refunds, Puddle, having come back to his senses, was somewhat upset that in the end “everyone got to thump Erman except [him]”. Some time later, Abúi, now travelling across dimensions with more accuracy, visited the Koala Bay Bares Naturist Resort in Tash's world in the company of Puddle, Jai-Jai, Sprite, Gog and Mim. (COMIC: The Nicest Place in the Universe)
