The Shifting Chamber was a device invented in one universe by Laura Drake, who powered it using Jenny Everywhere's DNA. Its intended use was to allow individuals who were not incarnations of Jenny Everywhere to shift like Jenny could, but when Bastian tested it, it was realised that Laura had made a miscalculation, and that the chamber instead faded people from existence.
