According to the Prime Universe's Sherlock Holmes, his universe's version of Castle Frankenstein was located in Darmstadt, Germany, and Victor von Frankenstein was an unrelated fictional character. The Castle was abandoned in the 18th century. By 1895, Holmes had seen engravings of the castle, which looked smaller than the one he visited in another universe thanks to Pythagoras-858. Behind the scenes
Castle Frankenstein as described by Sherlock Holmes matches up to the real-life building by that name, whose influence on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is contested. At any rate, Shelley's Frankenstein (who is in any event not German) never actually lived in the Castle.
