In one universe, a girl with curly hair, glasses, a nose-ring, and a seeming love for reading was a friend of the local incarnation of Jenny Everywhere.
She seemed to be in on the secret of Jenny's true nature and adventures. She also knew of the mysterious individual who contacted Jenny to inform her that the universe needed saving, asking her, when the two met for drinks, if "he" had called again. (COMIC: No Café This Time)
Behind the scenes
Although the character had not yet been created, it would be quite possible, given the friend's appearance and role, to retroactively suppose her to be an incarnation of Laura Drake.
