At least in Jenny Cornelius's native universe, in the 1960s, North Korea was “the Russians' half” of Korea, on the other side of the Cold War from the United Kingdom. As such, it was a problem when an SBS detachment ended up mistakenly stuck in North Korean waters. When Captain Stewart asked Jenny Cornelius to create a distraction so they could slip away unnoticed, she achieved it by rousing a giant atomic sea monster, which emerged from the Sea of Japan and began heading towards Pyongyang.
