Romeo-1020 was a Mark XI Clockwork Cherub of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids.
He worked as a clerk for the Department of Departments, and, due to the joke inherent in the pairing of their names, was roped by Juliet-178 into pretending to date her. This was both a prank played on the rest of the Crew, making them boggle at the idea that the two of them had somehow fallen in love despite the Clockwork Cherubs not being programmed to be capable of romantic interest; and a convenient excuse for the two of them to sneak off from their respective duties and go on movie dates.
After Juliet accidentally caused the creation of hundreds of copies of herself, however, each of them insisted on watching the same movie with Romeo, one after the other. Romeo got extremely bored and tried to break up with all of the Juliets at once, sparking mass mayhem in the Cupid Homeworld until the Cupid Parliament exiled Romeo and all of the Juliet duplicates — though not the original — to an asteroid in Dimension 1579.
