When the Man in Grey wrote a Pride Month announcement for the Multidimensional Finders Service, he mistakenly used “friend of Alice” as a euphemism for “gay”, instead of “friend of Dorothy”. (PROSE: A Series of Queer Events)

Behind the scenes

This is manifestly an allusion to the main character of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It has often been noted that The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has a similar structure to Wonderland, with Dorothy in place of Alice.
