Shelterville was a city built in a pocket nexus reality. Despite possessing advanced technology and being populated with people from a variety of dimensions and backgrounds, it was styled to resemble a 19th century American frontier town.
History
Shelterville once suffered some property damage as part of a “mix-up with Oz”.
Following this incident, it did not see any more interdimensional visitors until Greta Överallt arrived in town in search of her old friend and fellow shifter, Sven Allestädes. Deputy Shotwell led her to the garage, where one of the mechanics used an interociter to contact Jenny Everywhere and Jenny Anywhere. Learning that Sven may have returned to the Land of the Naked Emperor, the three shifters travelled there and ended up in the middle of a civil war. They temporarily shifted the tyrannical Baron Tarquin to the Shelterville jail, as well as exiling Greta's father, the former Emperor, to Shelterville on a more permanent basis. Before long, the repentant Emperor found a new calling as Shelterville's new Justice of the Peace, and was sworn in by Shotwell as part of a public ceremony attended by many residents of and visitors to Shelterville.
