Jenny Over-There of the Multidimensional Finders Service once took a phone call from a “very distressed man” who was looking for a Mr Gatsby. Assuming the caller was a friend of Gatsby's, Jenny informed him that Gatsby appeared to be in his swimming pool and also that the door to his house was unlocked. (PROSE: Open Sourcing)

Behind the scenes

Jay Gatsby is the protagonist of the public-domain novel The Great Gatsby. The humour of the aside about Gatsby in Open Sourcing lies in the fact that as per the plot of the novel, the caller appears to have been George Wilson, a man wrongly blaming Gatsby for the death of his wife, who will go on to use Jenny's information to break into Gatsby's house and murder Gatsby.
