The '''''Weekly Comet''''' was a tabloid newspaper in [[Universe A (Scandal Sheet)|one universe]]. While appearing to be a typical, sleazy supermarket newspaper, it was, in reality, a cover for an organization dedicated to protecting supernatural entities by publishing absurd articles about them to convince the public that they were not worth speculating upon (alongside a slew of other, even more ridiculous articles based on nothing at all to further cover their tracks).

The organization was headed by [[Millard Detweiler]], who cared about the organization's mission and refused to sell out to large publishing corporation [[U.S. Media]], owner of every other tabloid paper in the country. Other employees included, among others, journalists [[Foster Hearst]] and [[Max Murdock]], consultant (and [[sasquatch]]) [[Phil]], and layout artist [[Andrea Campos]].
