The first phase of any game of ''The Everywheres'' would be for the players to design a starting situation in the universe they visit, usually according to the format “Historical figure] [did something or didn't do something] which caused [world-changing event], benefiting [Firstname] [Anywhere/Nowhere]”.

Actual gameplay followed the “[http://danielsolisblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/split-decision.html Split Decision]” mechanics earlier designed by [[Daniel Solis]]. The possibility of creating or destroying new timelines branching off from the situation at hand was the main driver of stakes in the game; the creation of too many new timelines at once benefited the [[Anywhere]]s, the destruction of too many benefited the [[Nowhere]]s, while the [[Jenny Everywhere|Everywhere]]s must maintain a healthy balance for the sake of the “[[Somewhere]]s”.
