== History ==
The building was specifically constructed to serve as the [[Department of Postal Services]]' headquarters when the Department was first founded at [[Prefect]] [[Philatel-426]]'s instigation. A year after its inauguration, Philatel had begun thinking about adding a new wing to house his stamp collection. Indeed, until April 29th, 2019, ([[PROSE]]: ''[[The Faction of the Fooling Fish (short story)|The Faction of the Fooling Fish]]'') the building's west wing was solely used for that purpose. After that date, however, the [[Blue Feather]] blackmailed him into letting it double as their organisation's new headquarters. On [[Halloween]] 2019, Philatel decorated the walls of the Post Office with paper cutouts of bats, which Thymon helped stick to the walls using “unknowable eldritch powers, and also tape”. Later, after being briefly sent to the [[Spirit Realm]], [[Foreman-964]] projected his “[[ghost]]” into the Post Office and tore up the mail, though Philatel, who'd also been sent to the Spirit Realm, was, at the same time, tearing up warehouse blueprints in Foreman's [[Department of Construction's headquarters]]. Shortly thereafter, looking for a quiet place to take a nap — which, at the moment, his house definitely wasn't due to [[Larrikin-1029]] — [[Marksmanship-522]] tried to take a nap inside a mailbag in the Mail Pickup Wing of the Post Office. In the 2019 [[Christmas]] season, an irate Philatel had to record a public-service announcement to quell the influx of letters addressed to [[Santa Claus]], which the Depatment was in no position to deliver and which had piled high even after they were given a specific sorting crate.
